5 Days Samburu and Amboseli Safari: A 5-day safari tour between Samburu National Reserve and Amboseli National Park offers you a chance to explore two famous Kenya Safari destinations. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Samburu National Reserve.
Depending on where you stay in Nairobi our driver guide will pick you to start the tour. Traveling from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve takes a total of 6 to 7 hours. You will discover stunning central highland landscapes along with local settlements and Mount Kenya in the background on your way.
On arrival, check into your lodge before going on an evening wildlife expedition. Our driver will guide you on the game drive to find elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and the special animals of Samburu National Park; Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. At the end of the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day 2: Full-day game drive in Samburu National Reserve
You will start your day with breakfast and then proceed to explore Samburu National Reserve throughout an entire day of game driving. You will observe many new members of the Samburu Special Five together with cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles and diverse bird varieties including; Lilac breasted roller, Marabou Stork, vultures among others.
You will experience your lunch at an attractive riverfront spot as you admire the importance of Ewaso Nyiro River to the park. After lunch, go for a late afternoon drive which leads through additional park regions. Return to the lodge for rest and dinner before overnight sleep.
Day 3: Transfer to Amboseli National Park
Have breakfast at the lodge, then travel to Amboseli National Park which will take you about 7 to 8 hours, inclusive of a lunch break. Your drive towards Amboseli will start with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, which stands as the tallest mountain in Africa. When you arrive I the Park, you will check into your lodge and head out to experience an evening expedition through the park, which presents numerous big herds of wildlife including elephants, zebras, lions, buffalos, Masai giraffes and sometimes observable predators. Return to the lodge where you will eat dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park
After early morning breakfast at your lodge you will drive throughout Amboseli National Park during a full-day excursion. Amboseli National Park acts as a prime Kenya safari destination to view the majestic large tusked elephants due to the numerous herds living there. You can spot buffalos, giraffes and zebras as well as hippos and many types of birds including crested cranes, herons and secretary birds during your visit.
During your day at Amboseli National Park you will have a picnic lunch while overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro from within park plains. After lunch you will continue the game drive through various sections of Amboseli National Park and return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer back to Nairobi
Early morning you will take your last game drive to watch lions, leopards, hyenas before they go to their hiding spots since they rise early. The first sunrise creatures you will spot include animals like giraffes, Antelopes, zebras.
After the game drive, go to the lodge, eat breakfast, check out of the room and travel back to Nairobi. You will have a lunch break during your travel to Nairobi, where you will arrive in the afternoon. The driver guide drops you directly to your specified destination or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
